Re-Roofing Over Shingles - No matter what you do, do not simply nail new shingles over old ones. And to give full disclosure on this, we use to do this 20-25 years ago when inspectors and manufactures stated that this was okay. Old shingles need to be removed and replaced by new ones for a host of reasons.
